Can You Knit or Crochet?

Just a simple stitch will do to make small shawl/blankets to give to our shut-ins as a symbol of the Church's love and prayers for them while they are in hospital, nursing homes, or at home and unable to come to Church. Norma Ross has the pattern to make these gifts for members of our community.

The CCDP ACW is a busy group which

  • provides financial support to the parish and to our many Outreach projects;
  • assists with receptions and parish special events;
  • assists with our two, annual parish Rummage Sales, sorting and pricing donated items;
  • co-ordinates and organizes the annual Christmas Fair (and we think our Rummage sales and Christmas Fairs are the best in the city);
  • co-ordinates and organizes an annual Bridge Luncheon;
  • hosts annual Spring and Christmas luncheons for shut-ins.

The St. Andrew's Group

The St. Andrews Group continues to meet each Tuesday throughout the summer.

This active group meets every Tuesday at 10 am to enjoy quilting, knitting and then fellowship over a brown bag lunch, with a monthly guest speaker. Each year a quilt is designed, pieced and hand stitched to be raffled at the Christmas Fair. Knitted articles and Christmas decorations are also prepared for sale at the Fair.

These home crafts are making a comeback and here's an excellent opportunity to refine your skills or learn new tricks from experienced hands. Just drop in and introduce yourself.

The Chancel Guild

The Chancel Guild's function is to prepare the Church for worship. Members rotate monthly in groups of three, meeting for about 1 1/2 hours on Fridays to maintain the brass, silver and linens, change the altar and lectern hangings for each season and special occasions (Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals) and ensure adequate supplies of wine, wafers and candles. Flower arrangers also rotate on a monthly cycle.

The group has great team spirit and new members are always welcome. If interested in joining this spirited group, please call the church office: 416-920-5211.
