Prayer Candle

at the 9:15 am liturgy when the children arrive from PromiseLand, one of them is carrying a candle and places it on the altar. The candle symbolizes the prayers of the children, especially those who are in any kind of need. The lit candle joins their prayers with ours as we celebrate the Eucharist together.

Pentecost & Mother's Day Sunday May 11, 2008 Mother's Day BBQ. PromiseLand invites you to Come and Celebrate with us! BUBBLES BALLOONS and BBQ (after the 9:15 service) Make a gift for Mom! Wear Red (the colour of the Holy Spirit) and bring a friend. PromiseLand schedule here »

PromiseLand begins every Sunday morning at 9:15 am from September to June. During the summer, we begin at 10 am.

Children ages 4 to 15 gather in the Children’s Chapel where we sing, pray and laugh. We read the Word of God, we hear a story based on the lesson, and then we go to our age appropriate rooms to do great art projects and drama together and have fun, fun, and more fun!

For children 3 and under we have The Nest, certified child-care located on the third floor.

In PromiseLand, we follow the Revised Common Lectionary, so we hear the same stories as our parents, and that means when we go home we have lots and lots to talk about.

We have a Junior Choir! Alternating with, or joining, the Parish Choir, the Junior Choir sings twice a month at the 9:15 Eucharist service as well as at other special occasions. Led by Bruce Kirkpatrick Hill. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 4:00 - 5:00 pm. Have the time? the inclination? Contact the Director of Music, Bruce Kirkpatrick Hill [link] or see about the choir here »

Our Christmas Pageant is a highlight of the Holiday Season, and there are parts for anyone who wants to participate, from angels to donkeys.

We love parties, so we have them often: at Epiphany, Easter and All Saints. We also have a fantastic Pancake Supper and Ash Wednesday Family Event that everyone loves. On Good Friday there is a Children’s walk followed by a yummy breakfast of hot cross buns. Then of course there are occasional trips!

We have fun for the whole family, with seasonal booklets to help families celebrate at home, family games night, and Pot Luck Suppers.

The thing we do best is Share
the Good News of Jesus in our Lives!

PromiseLand is lots of fun, and, is also serious business. We take to heart the honour and privilege of nurturing children in the faith every
Sunday. We take seriously our commitment to families, and we strive to provide not only the best Sunday Morning experience for all but also tools to encourage everyone in their weekly
journey.

Classes are age appropriate so that as children mature, so will their faith experience and opportunities. We strive to lead by example in worship, teaching and learning, prayer, love, peace and justice. We want every child who spends time with us to know that they are
divinely created and intimately loved by God.

PromiseLand - SUNDAYS at 9:15 am

Please come along and join us one Sunday morning. You will be glad you did!
