 Toronto Chamber Choir - Gibbons: Canticles & CriesSaturday, March 3, 2012 at 8 pm at CCDP - [Opening Notes • 7 p.m.] Echoing cathedral music combines with raucous street cries in a fascinating variety of sounds. The Cries of London and Magnificat by Orlando Gibbons, Glenn Gould's favourite composer, illustrate our secular/sacred theme. With organ, lute and the viols of the Cardinal Consort, we will perform Renaissance canticles, anthems, madrigals and vendors' cries by Gibbons, Byrd and others. Brahms Trio HD - recorded at Christ Church Deer Park: A new recording featuring Jeff Nelsen, hornist of the Canadian Brass, Ik-Hwan Bae on violin, and Naomi Kudo on Piano. This listing of groups and individuals performing is offered as a public service - for information and tickets, please contact the group concerned. Consider CCDP as a performance venue! The church is an excellent performance space which holds up to 500 comfortably - the acoustics are excellent. The state-of-the-art sound system is capable of a live direct-to-CD recording of the event. Rehearsal spaces and pre-/post-performance reception facilities can also be arranged. CCDP is in a convenient central location, a 5-minute walk north from the St. Clair station on the Yonge subway, accessible, with street parking and a municipal parking lot directly across the street.
