ARE YOU AT A LOSS IN THE KITCHEN?

Are canned or frozen dinners and take-out about your limit? Then you will enjoy our

COOKING COURSE

We’ll help de-mystify the art of shopping for and preparing basic, healthy comfort foods (and we guarantee that you’ll also have fun doing it). Courses are held in our own Church kitchen and will be kept small. Each will run 6 weeks. Tailored for people who find themselves on their own, recently widowed or have become the caregiver in the family. Intrigued? Please leave a message for the coordinators with Jean King, Parish Administrator, at 416- 920-5211 ext 22.

The People of God, Caring for the People of God

This is the essence of pastoral care - one parishioner visiting, encouraging and caring for another. Pastoral care may include a personal visit to a parishioner at home, in hospital or a long term care facility, or it may be a friendly phone call or a note sent through the mail.

For further information and to offer your time and care to this ministry please contact Samantha Caravan 416-920-5211 x 31 or email ».

Toronto Green BinGreen Bin Program at CCDP - To minimize the amount of trash that is put out, Christ Church Deer Park is now participating in the green bin program. The Green Bin Program allows us to put organic waste out for curbside collection, which can then be made into high-quality compost. The Green Bin Program will increase our waste diversion and greatly reduce the amount of garbage we send to landfill. Help us get with the program! More about the green bin program here »

Used batteries - Don't know what to do with your old or used batteries? Bring them to CCDP and place them in the bin in the Atrium. We will take care of disposing them safely. Be part of the green solution! See the CCDP green page »

Re-cycle your egg cartons and plastic grocery bags - bring them to CCDP and leave them in the Food Bank box in the Atrium. The Churches on the Hill (COTH) FoodBank will use the cartons to repackage flats of eggs for their clients. More on COTH »

Donate to support the work & ministries of Christ Church Deer Park

Are you a knitter looking for a project?
OVER THE CENTURIES, shawls have come to symbolize comfort and peace. Christ Church Deer Park has formed a Prayer Shawl Ministry, which has become an international cause in the ecumenical community. Shawls are given as a symbol of the prayers of the community to those who are sick at home, hospital or in a seniors’ residence. Hand knitted shawls have been presented to our shut-ins over the past year and we have seen how much they have been appreciated. Shawls can be simple or elaborate. They can be a diagonal shape, a large rectangular scarf or simply a smaller lap rug. For all knitters, women and men (yes, men knit too!) who would like to contribute to this initiative, please contact Norma Ross (416-929-5494). She will be pleased to provide patterns.
