Parish Forum Update The Parish Forum Working Group met on September 9, 2010. As a result of the full Parish Forum session last spring, plus follow-up and feedback, the priorites for future discussions have become clear. Building a Sustainable Future Upcoming Parish Forum Sessions will focus on
Parish Forum THE MANDATE of the Parish Forum is to provide advice to the clergy and corporation on key issues that are important to the congregation and central to their interest. It is expected that the Parish Forum will meet approximately three times a year for two hours. A Working Group of 24 permanent members represents a cross section of the CCDP community and everyone in the congregation interested in attending Parish Forum meetings is welcome. The first Parish Forum was held on Sunday March 21, 2010 and was attended by approximately 75 individuals. The subject was the combined Sunday morning services. There was strong consensus that the single service at 10:00 a.m. was fulfilling the worship needs of the parish and that it should be the model for going forward. On May 27th members of the Parish Forum Working Group met to identify potential topics for discussion during the coming year. They are listed below and are not in any priority. Please let us know your priorities and if you are interested and willing to work on these topics. The Working Group is planning to meet early in September and to have a Parish Forum most likely in October. Potential topics for Parish Forum to discuss:
Contact information for members of Parish Forum is available from the parish office: 416-920-5211 or email » For staff, see the contacts webpage here » Parish Corporation (rector & wardens) To get in touch with the wardens, please contact the parish office: 416-920-5211 / email » Open - Church Community
The clergy look after the spiritual and liturgical needs of the parish and the office staff look after the day-to-day scheduling of events and accounting, but the church would still not operate at top efficiency without the input and caring of the dedicated volunteers to Parish Forum. Wardens and Ministry Chairs elected annually Two Wardens, one Deputy Warden and the Ministry chairs are elected at the annual meeting (Vestry). The Wardens move up the the line each year to maintain continuity...from Deputy, to People's Warden, to Rector's Warden...a three-year commitment The Wardens, along with the Rector, form the Corporation, which meets regularly to assess the overall running of the church, approve expenditures, consider and/or act upon suggestions from Parish Forum, and set the annual budget.
