Prayer Candle

at the liturgy, when the children arrive from PromiseLand, one of them is carrying a candle and places it on the altar. The candle symbolizes the prayers of the children, especially those who are in any kind of need. The lit candle joins their prayers with ours as we celebrate the Eucharist together.

PromiseLand begins every Sunday morning at 10 am. Upcoming PromiseLand Sunday Schedule & themes click here ».

Kids age 4+ and young people to age 15 gather in the Chapel of St. Nicholas where we sing, pray and laugh. We read the Word of God, we hear a story based on the lesson, and then we go to our age appropriate rooms to do great art projects and drama together and have fun, fun, and more fun!

For toddlers to age 4 and under we have The Nest, certified child-care located on the third floor at 10 am. The Nest is located on the 3rd floor –from Heath Street Atrium, follow the signs for The Nest. Tuta Shurdha is our certified child-care worker on staff.

In PromiseLand, we follow the Revised Common Lectionary, so we hear the same stories as our parents, and that means when we go home we have lots and lots to talk about. Weekly schedule of themes here »

The Sacrament of Confirmation

ECHO confirmation Confirmation will be celebrated at the Easter Vigil on Saturday April 3, 2010, at 7:00 pm with Bishop Patrick Yu. The theme this year is ECHO – created in the image of God - called to love.

ECHO will be held on Sunday mornings in the library (lower level). Everyone is welcome.

Remaining sessions are:
  • February 21, 28 - 10am
  • March 7, 28 - 10am

There is no prerequisite and no test to pass. Come have some fun with us as we explore who God is, and what that means for us as individuals and as community. We will ask ourselves who or what is important to us, is God on the top 10 list? Field trips and special guests are on the list of fun, I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. I can be reached at the church extension 27 or by email

This summer in PromiseLand / Kids Faith Club we will be exploring ways to care for our planet. We will read and consider what the bible tells us about our role as caretakers of the planet. We will ask lots of questions, – What is global warming? – What is toxic waste? – Is it really that important to recycle? – Where does all my stuff go when I am finished with it? If you questions bring them along, we will look for the answers together. See Sunday curriculum outline here »

We love parties, so we have them often: at Epiphany, Easter and All Saints. We also have a fantastic Pancake Supper and Ash Wednesday Family Event that everyone loves. On Good Friday there is a Children’s walk followed by a yummy breakfast of hot cross buns. Then of course there are occasional trips!

We have fun for the whole family, with seasonal booklets to help families celebrate at home, family games night, and Pot Luck Suppers.

The thing we do best is Share
the Good News of Jesus in our Lives!

PromiseLand is lots of fun, and, is also serious business. We take to heart the honour and privilege of nurturing children in the faith every Sunday. We take seriously our commitment to families, and we strive to provide not only the best Sunday Morning experience for all but also tools to encourage everyone in their weekly journey.

Classes are age appropriate so that as children mature, so will their faith experience and opportunities. We strive to lead by example in worship, teaching and learning, prayer, love, peace and justice. We want every child who spends time with us to know that they are divinely created and intimately loved by God.

PromiseLand - SUNDAYS at 10 am
